Meet Your Instructor
Arise Training Academy was founded by Prudence Torres, a Nationally Registered Paramedic with over two decades of active emergency service with the Baltimore City Fire Department. She has responded to cardiac arrests, overdoses, trauma, and everything in between — and she brings every bit of that real-world experience into the classroom.
Pru also holds an AHA BLS Instructor certification and an Instructor I certification through MFRI, and has represented BCFD on Fox45 Morning News and WBAL TV demonstrating CPR and community safety education. She founded Arise because she believes life-saving skills belong to everyone — not just people in scrubs.

The Arise Experience
This is what our students experience — the confidence, the skills, and the peace of mind that comes from training with someone who has truly been there.
You've taken CPR classes before and always left feeling unsure. This time is completely different. Every step is clear, every skill practiced until it clicks — and you leave actually ready.
Your whole team gets certified in one session. We come to your location, bring everything needed, and get it done efficiently — with group pricing that makes it easy to say yes.
Mental Health First Aid isn't theory — it's practical tools you use the next day. You leave knowing how to recognize a crisis, how to respond, and how to connect someone to real help.
Healthcare students leave with an AHA BLS card that's accepted everywhere — and with the hands-on repetition that makes the difference between freezing and acting when it matters.
Narcan training is no-judgment, no jargon, and no fear. You learn to recognize an overdose, respond immediately, and carry that knowledge back into your community with confidence.
Twenty-one years of real emergency response means the stories you hear in class are real. That context makes everything stick — and turns a certification into something you actually trust.
These cards reflect the outcomes and experiences our students consistently describe. Real reviews coming soon — be one of our first!
